I started this little project several years ago, to get into Blender (since Maya sucks) and I spent today picking it back up again just to finish it. Since I started this project I've transitioned to using Blender professionally.

I wanted to make some simple models in Blender and also try out some of the simulation and render capabilities in Blender.
Baked in Marmoset, textured in Painter and the tatami mat is an old Designer material I had laying around and never used for anything. The cloth was simulated in Blender and the finger has a quick pass through zBrush.

A lot of imperfections everywhere and things that could do with polish, but I've started to feel like it's not worth it sweating the details anymore. I could have spent several more hours fixing the blood to look more real, some of the bake errors on edges and push the general surface definitions to get more readable materials (and avoid the spiking whites on the blade). The tatami material would be a lot better if I re-did it today, probably, since it was a quick and dirty mock-up I did several years ago.

But instead of spending time on that, I'll say it's good enough and go out for a walk.
