This is how I start my cracks, nothing new or revolutionary. One pattern for large and one for small cracks.

This is how I start my cracks, nothing new or revolutionary. One pattern for large and one for small cracks.

I then offset the large cracks with my basic pattern and use the offset-ed pattern to offset the small cracks. I use the Dilation node to tighten the Edge Detect even more. The Histograms are to mask out where I apply the small cracks and holes.
